About the Role

We’re seeking a Search Engine Marketing Manager with battle-tested SEM expertise, strong analytical skills, and entrepreneurial drive to take over paid search efforts from our co-founder and to help us scale the business (by a lot). You’ll be Far Homes’ first Paid Growth hire, and your objective will be to hit our ambitious paid acquisition goals while maintaining a disciplined grip on contribution margin. 

We’re looking for someone who knows from experience all the ins and outs of how to build and optimize SEM campaigns/systems and who steps up to independently drive our paid acquisition efforts forward. You’ll build and manage the campaigns day-to-day and will also define and execute the roadmap for building a world-class SEM machine from scratch.

What you’ll do

  • Scale our SEM efforts from humble beginnings to becoming an acquisition powerhouse.
  • Manage day-to-day search marketing operations. Set up campaigns, optimize bid strategies, ad copy, landing pages and more.
  • Define and implement the roadmap for continuous experimentation to drive growth and optimize cost per acquisition.
  • Analyze data to drive business decisions & results. You’ll watch daily campaign performance like a hawk, conduct analysis on experiment results using data from a variety of sources, and help define the metrics that guide us as we continue to scale.
  • Collaborate with product/engineering to prioritize and implement tech that gives us the fastest path to SEM success at scale.

What it takes to succeed

  • 3+ years of experience using Google Adwords with large non-brand keyword portfolios and a 6-figure or higher monthly search budget required. Experience scaling a budget substantially is a huge plus.
  • Deep understanding of automated search bidding strategies including tCPA & tROAS required.
  • Ability to make experience-backed, well-scoped recommendations for what SEM systems/tech we should implement to hit our goals.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including a reflex to anchor analysis to why it matters for the business and the ability to make decisions with imperfect or limited data. Advanced abilities in Excel/Google Sheets is a must.
  • Excitement to work at a startup and the scrappiness that comes with it. You’re a ruthless prioritizer, enjoy wearing many hats, love to figure out how to do more with less, and are comfortable constructing things with a bit of duct tape and glue. 
  • You always have contribution profit in mind. Sure you’re an SEM expert, but you can think like a CFO.
  • Bonus: experience with other paid channels. We’re focused first and foremost on hiring someone who’s stellar with paid search marketing. But if you’re also someone with the appetite and skills to spin up and grow paid marketing across multiple channels, that’s a big plus.

This is a full-time, US-based remote role. However, because we get together every 4-8 weeks in-person in Seattle, being within a 2-3 hour flight’s distance is strongly preferred.
